Local hospitals hijacked by Democrats

May 3, 2024

Editor’s note: The vote was largely along party lines; however, Democrats Stell Parker Selby, D-Milton; Sean Lynn, D-Dover; and Sean Matthews, D-Talleyville, voted against the bill. Rep. Pete Schwartzkopf, D-Rehoboth Beach, and Sherae’a Moore, D-Middletown, were absent.

With a shortage of doctors and medical professionals in southern Delaware, why would Democrats in the Delaware General Assembly force passage of a new law that takes local control away from our hospitals and medical professionals? This is just what happened under the cover of darkness last week on the floor of the Delaware House of Representatives.

When attending a community event in Sussex County or seeing a Democrat in the Delaware General Assembly, ask them what they are doing right now to stop the partisan hijacking of decision-making from our local hospitals. Don't they care about Beebe and Bayhealth?

Sadly, one does not need to look to Washington, D.C., to find elected officials acting against the wishes of the majority of constituents; they only need to look to the Democratic majority serving in Dover.
