Lorene Carmean Breasure, woman of faith

Lorene Carmean Breasure, 83, went to be with the Lord peacefully at her home in Millsboro Thursday, July 11, 2024. She was born Oct. 28, 1940.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Margaret Carmean from Millsboro; her brother, Preston Carmean; and sister, Charlene Lynch. She is survived by one brother, Gay Carmean.

Lorene graduated in 1958 from Millsboro High School. In 1960, she married Leroy Edward Breasure from Georgetown. They were married for 45 years until his passing in 2005. Together they raised two children, Dionne Lorene Baker and Lorne Leroy Breasure. In addition to her brother and children, she is survived by four grandchildren, James “JJ” Baker (Erin), Corey Baker, William Breasure (Lizzie) and Morgan Iseman (Luke); as well as five great-grandchildren, Baylor Baker, Ruby Baker, Bethany Iseman, Ronan Breasure and Owen Breasure.

In 1975, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She read the Bible daily to her children, and faithfully prayed for all her family, always directing them to the scriptures for peace and guidance in all areas of their lives. Lorene retired from the Department of Elections in 2001.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 22, at Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro, with a viewing beginning at 10 a.m. A graveside service will follow at the end of the service.
