Louis N. ‘Skip’ Johnson, loved the outdoors
Louis N. "Skip" Johnson, 71, of Lewes passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020, at his home after a long battle with cancer. He was born Sunday, Aug. 8, 1948, in Perth Amboy, N.J., to Louis A. Johnson and Mildred Johnson.
Skip attended Rutgers Preparatory School, earned a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Miami, and a master's degree in interior design from Savannah College of Art and Design. He was a certified insurance agent for John H. Herche Agency and a licensed travel agent for Johnson Travel, both in Jamesburg, N.J., for 40 years. Skip was a professional photographer and the proud owner and operator of Skipshot Photography, LTD. Skip loved the outdoors and was an avid sportsman, hunter and fisherman. He was a Boy Scout troop leader, an accomplished artist, and a world traveler. Skip especially enjoyed trips to Maine; he loved lobster and was quite the "foodie.” Although he did love to cook, he loved to eat more! Skip was a past exalted ruler of Elks Lodge 2180 in Jamesburg, and was active in the NJ Lighthouse Society, where he photographed many of New Jersey's coastal lighthouses.
Above all, Skip cherished time spent with those he held most dear. He was a loving and devoted husband, grandfather, uncle and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Skip was preceded in death by his son, Jason Louis Johnson; and his sister, Barbara Sutton. He is survived by his beloved wife and partner of 25 years, Diane Johnson of Lewes; his grandchildren: Hailey, Nikki, Tori, Charlotte, Kylie, and Cody; his nephew, Ron Dominiecki (Lisa), his great-niece, Allison Frederic; his nephew, David Dominiecki (Cindy) and his great-nephews (Michael, Brian).
