Lutheran Church of Our Savior holds Blessing of the Animals

The Lutheran Church of Our Savior held a Blessing of the Animals event Oct. 6, on at the church on Bay Vista Road, Rehoboth Beach.
The ceremony, which was overseen by Pastor Don Schaefer, saw a host of dogs, and even a pair of hermit crabs, in attendance.
According to their website, the ceremony is held close to Oct. 4 because that is the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, whose heart had a great respect for animals.
