October 25, 2023

Two nice people won the 10th annual Tommy Coveleski 5K, held Oct. 22 along the Forgotten Mile in Rehoboth Beach.

Bryan Mack, 33, captured the overall title in 19:09, while Bethany Wright, 28, placed fifth overall and won the women’s championship with a time of 21:30.

There were 81 finishers in the race, which benefits the Sussex Consortium, where Tommy worked as a physical education teacher.

Mack won the race for the third year in a row, while Wright won for the second time in the last three years, having placed a close third in 2022 behind Michele Karsnitz and Sarah Richards when it was a 10K.

Masters winners were Chris Schellinger, 42, in 22:53 and Tanya Karaman, 53, in 23:03.
