Mariner girls’ basketball downs Magnolia

The Mariner Middle School girls’ basketball team jumped out to a 14-2 first-quarter lead over the Riders and never looked back, as they defeated Magnolia Middle 34-7 to move to 3-0 on the season.
Emily Wells paced the Vikings with 12 points. Blair Chubb scored eight, while Kate Hill tallied six. Jada White and Mia Scott each hit for four, and Elana Booth scored a basket.
The Vikings will travel to Millsboro Middle Wednesday, Jan. 4.
