The Mariner softball Vikings defeated their cross-district rivals and future teammates Beacon 15-9 May 2, at Cape Henlopen’s softball field.
Mariner pitcher Katie Kuhlman struck out five Beacon Middle batters in the victory while Beacon’s Ava Simeone had three strikeouts.
Beacon’s Sydney Messick, Ava Simeone and Kamille Trammell had two hits each while Remi Anderson-Logan delivered with one.
Mariner moves to 2-7 on the season while the Beacon Vikings are 0-7.
