Mark Andrew Heebner-Schmitt, passionate about learning, music

Mark Andrew Heebner-Schmitt, 35, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away at home Thursday, July 25, 2024. He was born July 17, 1989, in Sellersville, Pa., son of David and Linda (Heebner) Schmitt.

Mark obtained a bachelor’s degree from Full Sail University in Florida in game design and an associate degree from the University of Delaware. Never one to stay idle, he was currently attending University of Delaware for another bachelor's degree. Mark had worked in various occupations throughout the years but always enjoyed learning new things and meeting new people. 

He was passionate about music and game design, and enjoyed his friends and family. Mark leaves behind a legacy of intellectual curiosity and a lifetime of knowledge about game design. His passion for learning how to make and produce games was also pursued in his college years and beyond, culminating with creating and designing cryptocurrency and Bitcoin. Mark was a man of faith with a devoted love of God and enjoyed studying the Bible, impacting so many of his friends with his faith and kindness. Above all, he was a loving and devoted son, brother, and friend, and a shining light in the lives of so many. His smile, kindness, and presence will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to have had him in their lives.

Mark was predeceased by his mother, Linda Susan Heebner. He is survived by his father, David Gustave Schmitt; and his sister, Lauren Ashley Austin (Chris).
