Mark T. Bennett, loved his family

Mark T. Bennett, 61, of Milton, passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. Mark was born Aug. 23, 1963, to James and Arlene (Nielsen) Bennett in Ridgewood, N.J.

Growing up in New Jersey, Mark had moved to New York state before settling in Delaware for the last 10 years. He attended Ramapo College of New Jersey, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. He was a born-again Christian who took pride in his work and was dedicated to any job he put his hands to, whether working as a chemist, project specialist, or doing yard work. When Mark was younger, he played football and never lost his love of sports. He taught his sons baseball and created memories that will last a lifetime. Above all this, Mark loved his family. Even when life was busy and difficult, he made sure to not miss important events like Christmas and birthdays. He will be remembered as a man who was devoted to those he loved.

Mark is preceded in death by his father, James Bennett; and his brother, John Bennett.

He will be deeply missed by his mother, Arlene Bennett; stepfather, James Fagan; sons, Tyler Bennett and Ryan Bennett; former wife, Karen Bennett; siblings, Tracy Jackson and James Bennett; and many other family members, friends, and his beloved cat, Sonny.

Services remembering and honoring the life of Mark will be held at a later date.
