Mary Brannon ‘Brandi’ Sullivan, beloved aunt
Mary Brannon “Brandi” Sullivan of Rehoboth Beach, 71, passed away Monday, Feb. 1, 2021, after a brief illness.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Estelle Sullivan of Alexandria, Va.; and is survived by her brothers, Stephen Sullivan and his wife Rebecca of Wellesley, Mass., John Sullivan and his wife Becky of Alexandria, and Thomas Sullivan and his wife Shawna of Los Barriles, Mexico. Brandi’s caring and fun-loving cousins include Kathleen (with Dick and Sully), Danny and Paula Scanlon, and Mary and Jim Dee. Brandi’s “beach” family includes her loving close friends Karen Jacoby, B.J. Shorak and Joan Crowley, to name just a few.
Brandi was and is forever the doting and sometimes “tough” aunt to nephews Scott Sullivan and his wife Kenya, Will Sullivan and his wife Molly, Connor and Liam Sullivan, Aidan Sullivan, and most favored niece Delaney Sullivan with her fiancé Isaac Ramirez; and great-nephew Jack, and great-niece Maddie.
Born Aug. 5, 1949, at Mitchell Field, Long Island, N.Y., Brandi lived all over the world - Japan, Hawaii, California, Washington, D.C., Turkey, and Spain. She attended Robert College (now University of the Bosphorus) in Istanbul, Turkey and graduated from Trinity College in Washington, D.C. A longtime resident of Alexandria, Brandi worked for many years at the National Court Reporters Association before founding her own association management company, Brannon Enterprises. She was asked to come back to NCRA to help set up its foundation and to create much-needed operational databases. In retirement, she moved to Rehoboth Beach in 2007, where she developed a wonderful and supportive circle of friends, known as her “Beach Family” and their weekly “The Starbucks Salon” as well as their Pinochle group.
Brandi is remembered by friends as always smiling and having a wonderful laugh, and by her niece and nephews as being a devoted aunt.
Due to COVID restrictions, a memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Brandi’s memory may be donated to the Delaware Humane Assn.’s Rehoboth Adoption Center, 18675 Coastal Hwy., Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
