Mary Jane Deni, loving wife, mother
Mary Jane Deni, 80, of Millsboro, formerly of Drexel Hill, Pa., passed away Monday, July 3, 2023, in her home surrounded by her family.
She was born Sept. 29, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pa., daughter of the late Frederick Saylor and Elizabeth (Haas) Saylor.
Mary Jane was a store secretary for Bradlees and a representative for TransUnion.
She was a treasurer for the Italian Heritage Association and a long-standing member of the Bishop James C. Burke Columbiettes, where she held offices of president and treasurer. She also held the office of state advocate for the State Columbiettes.
Surviving is her husband, James Deni, with whom she celebrated 54 years of marriage. Also surviving are three children, Patrice Reed of Virginia Beach, Va., James Deni and Christine Deni, both of Swarthmore, Pa.; and two grandchildren, Megan Reed and Alexandra Reed of Virginia Beach, Va.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 12, at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Dr., Lewes, where friends and family may gather at 10 a.m. Interment will be private at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
