Mary M. Corso, amazing cook
Mary M. Corso, 77, of Millsboro, formerly of Canarsie, N.Y., passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at Beebe Healthcare Center in Lewes. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of the late Paul Battaglino and the late Pauline (Pollari) Battaglino.
Mary retired from the Board of Education of New York with over 20 years of service working in the school cafeteria. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, crocheting and will be remembered as an amazing cook.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Battaglino; and a sister, Joann Magliocco. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, John Corso Jr.; three children, Paula Marie Corso of Millsboro, Desiree (William) James of Georgetown and John Corso III of Millsboro; a grandson, Anthony John Pittari; two stepgranddaughters, Cameron and Sydni James all of Georgetown; and a sister, Annette (Frank) Ortiz of Long Island, N.Y.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon and 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, July 16, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 17, at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, 30839 Mt. Joy Road, Millsboro. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro.
