A tribute from the House of Representatives was presented by Rep. Ron Gray, R-Selbyville. Tributes were also presented by the Delaware Senate and the Sussex County Council. Letters of congratulations from Gov. Jack Markell and Sen. Tom Carper were also read. BY STEVEN BILLUPS

Mason Dixon VFW Post 7234 celebrated its 70th anniversary May 14 at the post in Millville. On May 12, 1947, 92 World War II veterans returned to Sussex County and established the post in Selbyville near the Mason Dixon Line. On April 27, 1947, the ladies auxiliary was formed. The ceremony was held to celebrate the 70th anniversary and to remember the veterans who have passed away.
