Massey's Landing Resort opens this weekend

Second year of fun planned for Long Neck campground
March 31, 2017

General Manager Carrie Cettei says just about anything a camping vacationer could want can be found at The Resort at Massey's Landing RV Retreat and Campground. And she's not kidding.

Attention to detail is the hallmark of the resort as it prepares to open its second season.

Located at the end of Long Neck Road, the 52-acre property has two miles of waterfront along Roman T Pond on Reboboth Bay, with lagoons that cut into the property for all types of water sports. “One-third of our sites are waterfront,” Cettei said.

The resort – on both sides of Long Neck Road – features 253 RV sites, 32 cottages and an area set aside for tent camping. It's open from April 1 to Halloween weekend.

Besides water sports, vacationers can fish, crab, take a sunset cruise, get a shuttle bus to Rehoboth Beach or just sit back, relax and watch the sunset. A pier allows for easy access to the water.

“We stress customer service,” Cettei said. “Some people come here and spend several weeks, and they become members of our family.”

New this year will be 10 additional rental cottages; the Soggy Dollar, a restaurant adjacent to the resort's private beach; a tiki bar; and a liquor store attached to the marketplace and resort store. Cettei said most new amenities should be open by Memorial Day.

The RV sites offer hookups for water and sewer, TV, electric and Wi-Fi. Each site has stone or paved parking and a picnic table and fire ring.

The cottages can sleep up to seven people and each one has a screened-in porch. Cottage super sites at prime waterfront locations feature a tiki hut outdoor dining area.

Four restrooms are open 24 hours a day, with showers and a separate laundry room. There are playgrounds, a fitness center and a picnic area, and the heated pool features an area for children and adults, and features a swim-up bar.

Campers have options for food service including deliveries to campsites. The resort's Hungry Jack Cafe and Jackspot Grille are in the same building as the welcome center/marketplace next to the pool.

Cettei points out that the campground is extremely pet friendly with a dog beach and dog park. In addition, all of the cottages are pet friendly and even come with a pet bed.

An activities director plans special events throughout the season for families, children and adults, including special events for Easter. Rentals include paddleboards, kayaks, bikes, golf carts and personal watercraft.

Massey's Landing is owned and operated by Blue Water Development Corp., which also owns Chincoteague Island KOA and Sunset Beach RV Resort in Cape Charles in Virginia, four hotels, Blue Water Golf and Maui Jacks Waterpark in Chincoteague and Sea Rocket in Ocean City, Md.
