The spirit of compassion and community was palpable March 18 as volunteers from the CHEER Center in Georgetown gathered to participate in the National Meals on Wheels Delivery Day. For the recipients eagerly awaiting their arrival, these deliveries were more than just a source of sustenance; they were lifelines of connection in an otherwise isolated existence.
The impact of these deliveries extended far beyond the nutritional value of the meals themselves. For recipients like Patricia Glennon, who eagerly welcomed the volunteers to her home with a radiant smile, the visits provided a much-needed dose of human connection.
