Mental Health Alternatives Inc. invites preteens, teens and young adults to its Destress, Decompress and Recharge for an Unforgettable Summer workshop from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 7, at HealTree, 1632 Savannah Road, Lewes.
MHA co-founders Elizabeth Sanchez, Amy Casas and Diane Winiarczyk will lead the group through discovering the art of relaxation and stress reduction through mindfulness techniques, and engaging in a fun and interactive activity where participants will create their very own summer bucket lists.
Guest Dr. Danielle Giddins of Virgo Integrated Health will share the techniques and principles behind Neuro Emotional Technique. With NET, participants will learn to nurture their emotions and empower their thoughts. MHA received a generous donation of a Mary & Nancy Intention Teddy, and one lucky participant will get to take one home. Light refreshments will be provided. The event is donation-based and space is limited.
In early May, MHA hosted its Manifesting Miracles Everyday workshop event for local teens. The participants enjoyed open discussions about dreams, goals and desires, and Sanchez shared techniques to support the mind and body in achieving them. Julie Fisher of Gifted Alchemy joined the workshop and shared a sound meditation with the group. The participants experienced how sound can clear away stress and tension, release negative emotions and help in feeling calm.
MHA is a local nonprofit supporting teens by sharing experiences and tools to help them manage everyday stress and anxiety.
