Mentalist Dan Gaffney returns to entertain Elks
Renowned mentalist Dan Gaffney returned to the Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540 with his Mind Mysteries Show Sept. 16.
Practitioners of mentalism appear to demonstrate highly developed mental or intuitive abilities, and that was certainly the case with Gaffney’s performance.
Open to ticket-bearing Elk members and the public, the evening began with a dinner of cheese or lobster ravioli in lobster sauce. Local singer and Elks Exalted Ruler Joy Schreck started off the entertainment, while the dapperly dressed Gaffney roamed around the hall engaging guests in conversation.
A local celebrity and talk show host, Gaffney has amazing mentalist abilities that he brings to audience members in his Mind Mysteries Show. Gaffney said being a mentalist is similar to being a magician, but instead of magic props like cups, scarves and balls, the thoughts and minds of a live audience are used. “The show is highly interactive, involving multiple volunteers and at times the entire audience. Thoughts, words and personal information are revealed in an entertaining and fun way,” said Gaffney.
The crowd at the Elks was completely invested after only one sample of his amazing capabilities. Gaffney guessed cards, numbers and even pets’ names. One attendee said, “For those of you who have not seen Dan’s mentalist show, it is mind-boggling and highly entertaining.”
“it was an honor performing for such a receptive crowd! Hope to see you again soon for another Mind Mysteries Show,” said Gaffney.
Elks members are looking forward to hosting Gaffney again in the near future. Net proceeds from these events are used to support youth activities, scholarships, veterans and other charitable organizations within the community.
