MERR Institute seeks July 20 dolphin count volunteers

The Marine Education, Research and Rehabilitation Institute Inc. will hold its annual dolphin count from 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, July 20. Volunteers will be stationed at predesignated observation points from Fenwick Island to Woodland Beach.

Results from this count will help to determine population stability of Atlantic bottlenose dolphins in the region.

MERR is dedicated to the conservation of marine mammals and sea turtles, and their habitat. MERR provides rescue and response for stranded marine animals that occur throughout the state of Delaware, providing food and care, paying veterinary bills, transporting and purchasing supplies.
