MERR sets annual yard sale fundraiser in Lewes May 13
The Marine Education, Research and Rehabilitation Institute Inc. will hold its annual yard sale from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, May 13, at its facility at 801 Pilottown Road next to the Coast Guard Station, Lewes.
One of MERR’s major fundraisers, the sale will feature its usual assortment of items for home and garden, a bake sale with an array of homemade treats, and an all-new plant sale.
All funds raised during the event will go to support the year-round efforts of this nonprofit organization that serves as the first response for all marine mammals and sea turtles stranding in Delaware, providing food and care, paying veterinary bills, transporting and purchasing supplies.
MERR also hosts a number of outreach endeavors in which representatives travel to area schools to inform students about marine mammals and sea turtles found in the region. For more information, go to merrinstitute.org.
