Meyer’s financial transparency needed

August 16, 2024

A gorilla in the room overshadows the Delaware governor’s race: misappropriation of campaign funds by one of the candidates. And not for the first time by the same person.

Matt Meyer understands the importance of financial transparency. As New Castle County executive, he made all county spending public through checkbook.nccde.org, allowing people to see exactly where their money goes.

This initiative promotes transparency by offering detailed and interactive financial information. It helps ensure that no one can misappropriate funds unnoticed. There’s no danger of anybody putting their hand into the county till and getting away with it.

I sincerely hope we bring Matt Meyer’s level of transparency and demonstrated ability to achieve results by giving him our vote in the primary election Tuesday, Sept. 10, and the general election.
