Michael Anthony DelCampo Jr., owned Long Neck Plumbing & Heating
Michael Anthony “Delly” DelCampo Jr., 57, of Long Neck, formerly of Wilmington, passed away suddenly Monday, July 10, 2023.
Mike was born Jan. 28, 1966, to Joann (D’Libruo) and Michael DelCampo Sr. He attended St. John the Beloved grade school and graduated from DelCastle Technical High School in 1984. Mike went on to become a master plumber and former co-owner of DelCampo Brothers Plumbing & Heating, and current owner of Long Neck Plumbing & Heating, Millsboro.
A friend to everyone, Mike’s attitude of work hard, play harder drew others to him. His fun-loving spirit and outgoing personality helped him make friends everywhere he went. In his youth, Mike was an avid snow skier and loved a good winter snowstorm. He grew up hunting and fishing and spending summers at his beach house in Long Neck with his family, which led to his passion for boating and water sports.
Mike took immense joy in his toys, motorcycles, four-wheel drive lifted trucks, speed boats and jet skis; he knew how to have a fun time. He enjoyed traveling, especially to California and New York with his daughters. Mike loved music and he loved it loud! He shared his love of music with his daughters by taking them to concerts and music festivals. His all-time favorite band was Motley Crue, and one of his fondest memories was giving Vince Neil a ride on his boat.
Later in life, Mike moved permanently to his longtime beach house in Long Neck, where he started Long Neck Plumbing & Heating. While Mike was proud of his business accomplishments, he would always say that his greatest accomplishment was his three daughters.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Anthony DelCampo Sr.; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Elizabeth (Nowak) D’Libruo. Survivors include his children, Julianne DelCampo (Brent), Jacqueline DelCampo (Patrick) and Lexi Ann DelCampo (Alicia Williams); his mother, Joann DelCampo; his brother, William DelCampo (Laurie); grandchildren, Elias Kern, Amatullah Ramone and Zaynab Ramone; and his former wife, Joanne Malgiero.
A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, July 20, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, where friends and family may visit after 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Milton Cemetery in Milton.
