Michael C. Benedetto, proud Air Force veteran
Michael C. Benedetto, 66, of Millsboro, passed away suddenly at his home Tuesday, April 30, 2024. He was born Nov. 6, 1957, in New Haven, Conn. Michael lived a life marked by dedication to his family, service to his country, and passion for the simplicity of everyday pleasures.
After graduating in 1976 from Foran High School in Milford, Conn., Michael proudly served his nation in the U.S. Air Force, where he was stationed as close as New Jersey, and took him as far as Korea. He later took his skills back home to start a career as a lead foreman at Sikorsky Aircraft, where he spent 25 years providing for his family. Michael’s hobbies were a true reflection of his spirit, an avid gardener, skillful cook, and enthusiastic antique collector. He found great joy in these simple activities. Michael kept close to loved ones by having dinners with family and conversations with close friends. His strong beliefs in carrying on traditions, especially during the holidays, will be missed by those who shared many meals at his table. Michael will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Judy Benedetto. He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen Benedetto; their two sons, Michael A. Benedetto and his wife Judeann of Stratford, Conn., and Mark Benedetto and his wife Desiree of Millsboro; and beloved grandkids, Alli and Luca.
