Michael John Linden, honorable Army veteran
Michael John Linden, 71, of Lewes, passed away Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, at his home. He was born May 24, 1950, in Aurora, Ill., son of the late William and Barbara Linden.
A veteran, Mike honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Upon returning from service, Mike began a career in newspaper management in circulation logistics at The Beacon-News in North Aurora, Ill.
Mike built a career at the Sharon Herald Newspaper in Sharon, Pa. He served as head of circulation and retired after more than 30 dedicated years. After retiring, Mike moved to Lewes to be closer to his grandkids. He joined American Legion Post 17 in Lewes.
Mike enjoyed playing golf and was an avid fan of all sports, being particularly loyal to his Chicago Cubs and Bears. He enjoyed a good laugh, a cold drink, and a Margie Dog.
Mike is survived by his children: Timothy Linden of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Jill DiPaolo (Mike) of Lewes; his grandchildren, William and Amelia; his former wife and mother of his children, Gayle Linden of Lewes; and his siblings: Pat Bernard, Tom Linden and Bernie Linden, all of Florida, and Will Linden of Minnesota.
Services are private.
Final care has been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
