Michael Ludden, had many interests, hobbies
Michael Ludden passed away in his home in Sussex County in December 2023.
Mike was a devoted husband, father, veteran, marksman, blueberry gardener and connoisseur, Disney fan, neighbor, Tottenham Spurs supporter, and all-around hobbyist. A longtime Delawarean, he volunteered as a safety officer with the Bridgeville Rifle and Pistol Club, and competed with his friends and fellow marksmen locally and across the country, winning several awards. He enjoyed creative endeavors such as glasswork, cooking, and 3D printing after his long career in hospitality, which included managing Atlantic Sands in Rehoboth Beach.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Monika; children, Mike Jr. and Amanda; daughter-in-law, Christine; grandchildren, Brianna, Abigail and Christian; nieces, Jennifer, Katie and Melissa, and their families; and brother, Chip and family. His parents, Rosemary and Eugene; sister, Joanne; and brother-in-law, Ronnie preceded him in death.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Hwy., Lewes, with a visitation for family and friends before the service from 2 to 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to a local veteran’s group or food bank.
