Mike Miller formally announced that he will run for the state senate July 14 in the newly-formed Sixth District. Miller made the announcement at his house during the 20th annual Friends and Family Cookout in Jimtown. Miller spoke of other long-term commitments to his family and business in his speech.
The Democrat also mentioned his membership in several state and national business associations as part of his credentials for running. Issues that he said he would like to address if elected included a minimum wage increase and worker's compensation laws.
After the official announcement, the hundreds of supporters on hand enjoyed great food, fun, and entertainment with more than five musical acts playing live at the event.
