Milford High students showcase talents in ‘A Million Dreams’
Dreams came true for members of the Milford High School Drama Club as they took to the stage to perform their ideal roles in “A Million Dreams: The Milford High School Drama Club Musical Talent Showcase.”
While the pandemic has altered the club’s ability to produce a live, traditional show, the MHS Drama Club members weren’t going to let that stop the music. The students took this perfect opportunity to choose the roles they have always wanted to perform. In this production, which is now available to watch on YouTube, viewers will see members of the drama club showing off their talent in solos and a small group number.
Director Carissa Meiklejohn said, "It was so wonderful to get to see our kids onstage again! Though it wasn't a traditional show, I am happy the kids could have a lot of choice about what they performed."
This performance highlights the talents of two senior drama club members: Tristan Stevenson on piano and Rebecca Wisniewski as emcee.
The following students also performed in solo and group numbers: Will Evans, Jakob Faulkner, Anna Hatfield, Raine Hendricks, Abby Lincoln, Isabella Mendoza, Kylie Short, Haley Thompson, Paige Thompson, Mystery Villa and Rebecca Wisnewski. In one performance, even drama club staff members got into the act
“I am hopeful that we can get back to a normal show season next year, but this year has taught us a lot that we will be able to incorporate into future shows,” said Meiklejohn.
No ticket price is being charged for viewing, though the drama cub still had to pay for the sheet music and instrumental arrangements of “A Million Dreams.”
