Mill Pond Garden to open for Mother’s Day visitors May 12

Mill Pond Garden will open for Mother’s Day visitors from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Sunday, May 12, at 31401 Melloy Court, Lewes.

Tickets, available at millpondgarden.com, are $18 to admit a vehicle with up to six visitors.

With the garden showing its most luxuriant amount of bloom and magnificence of the year, guests will see scores of azaleas, rhododendrons, wisterias, many kinds of clematis and iris, native pitcher plants, giant purple alliums, ground orchids, native woodland phlox, hibiscus, many roses, especially the huge, climbing, fragrant Bourbon rose Zephrine Drouhin, and so much more.

On the banks of Red Mill Pond, the garden features fountains, stream and ponds, with nearly a half-mile of woodland pathways meandering through beautifully landscaped garden rooms.

Mill Pond Garden is the Cape Region’s only local professional public botanical garden.
