Millsboro man arrested on drug charges

Delaware State Police arrested a Millsboro man Aug. 5 after finding him passed out in front of God’s House of Deliverance Church with drugs on his person.

Members of the Sussex County Governor’s Task Force were on patrol at approximately 2:41 p.m., Aug. 5, in the Oak Orchard area of Millsboro when they saw the man.

Police said after rousing the man, identified as Brent Ward, 44, of Millsboro, they conducted a consensual search of his person. Police say they found nearly 2 grams of crack cocaine, more than 2 grams of powder cocaine, 38 counterfeit prescription pills and less than a gram of heroin. 

Ward was arrested and taken to Troop 4 in Georgetown, where he was charged with three felony counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, one count of possession with intent to deliver a counterfeit controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Ward was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 in Lewes and released on his own recognizance.
