Responding to swelling crowds and strong sales at its summertime markets, Milton Farmers Market is extending the 2019 season, giving foodies two more weeks to seek out fresh produce, locally made gifts and delectable treats in Milton.
The last market had been set for Oct. 4, but organizers have just added market dates Friday, Oct. 11 and 18, providing more chances for patrons to find fruits, vegetables and other goods from vendors like Backyard Jams & Jellies, T.S. Smith & Sons, Stag Run Farm, Nash's Veggies and Nana's Delights.
An extended season also means more chances to hear live music at the market, with Dave Aman to take the stage Oct. 11 and Hot Sauce wrapping up 2019's market season Oct. 18. Under the market's new community tent, Beebe Healthcare will share resources Oct. 11. The Milton Garden Club's work will be showcased Oct. 18.
As previously planned, the Milton Farmers Market will celebrate Oktoberfest Oct. 4.
"This has been a superb summer for both vendors and customers at the Milton Farmers Market," said Mike Isabell, market director. "By adding two more Fridays in October to the 2019 season, we can keep a good thing going, and help bring fresh fall flavors to the Cape Region."
The Milton Farmers Market takes place from 3 to 6 p.m., Fridays at 6 Village Center Blvd. in Milton, next to Dogfish Head Craft Brewery.
At the market, 20 vendors sell everything from locally raised fruits and vegetables to homemade pastries, artisanal soaps, organic meats, wild-caught salmon, kettle corn and fudge. Most vendors at the market accept credit cards in addition to cash. There is free parking, and Slo & Lo BBQ serves delicious meals.
