Milton food pantry president among outstanding volunteer awardees
Milton Community Food Pantry President Donna Murawski is one of 48 individuals who have been selected to receive 2021 Governor’s Outstanding Volunteer Service Awards.
The recipients were selected for significant contributions, engagement and impact in diverse service activities.
In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Murawski found a way to keep the Milton food pantry operating. She also set up the service for long-term success by identifying a building the pantry could purchase. Her unwavering support to keep the pantry open at personal sacrifice to her own family life has helped the family lives of countless others. Murawski has made the battle against food insecurity in the Milton area a personal priority. She led the pantry in servicing more than 1,200 families, impacting more than 4,700 individuals.
For more than seven years, the Milton Community Food Pantry has been committed to helping people get supplemental food. Volunteers currently serve between 40 and 50 families at each distribution and have distributed a total of more than 480,000 meals. The pantry is dedicated to innovations in how its volunteers can best distribute food and support the community in changing times. To learn more, go to miltonpantry.org.
