For the 31st year, visitors flocked to downtown Milton Dec. 9 for the long-running tradition that is the Milton Holly Festival.
Organized and hosted by the Milton Chamber of Commerce, the festival celebrates the town’s history as the Holly Capital of the World. The event featured 90 vendors, local artists and entrepreneurs with setups at the Milton fire hall, H.O. Brittingham Elementary School and Milton Public Library. Vendors are selected by the chamber’s Holly Festival committee.
Chamber President Anne Brown emphasized the meticulous planning involved in creating a high-caliber event, as vendors undergo a selection process by the Holly Festival Committee. The festival brought together the community and attracted attendees from Milton, Harbeson, Georgetown, Laurel, Milford, Rehoboth Beach, Millsboro, Lewes, Bethany Beach and beyond.
Surveying attendees during the festival, Karen Falk, executive director of the Milton Chamber of Commerce, noted the success of marketing efforts, drawing participants from Maryland, Washington, D.C., New York, New Jersey, and even two sisters from Germany.
