Miss Rehoboth crowned Miss Delaware 2011

Alyssa Murray, Miss Sussex County, shown during the swimsuit competition, was the fourth runner-up and the winner of the People’s Choice Award. Murray also won the Amy Voshell Rookie of the Year Award.

The Miss Delaware Scholarship Organization crowned the 2011 Miss Delaware June 11 at the Dover Downs Hotel and Casino. This year marked the 70th anniversary of the Miss Delaware Pageant. Several Miss Delawares from 1950 until the present were honored on stage during the pageant.

Last year's Miss Delaware, Kayla Martell, made the top 10 at the Miss America Pageant and was honored at this year's Miss Delaware Pageant with an award from the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, Martell’s platform, for raising awareness about the disease.

Miss Delaware 2011 was awarded to Miss Rehoboth Beach, Maria Cahill of Newark.
