Myers W. Gebhart, real estate agent

October 31, 2019

Myers Walter Gebhart, 62, of Harbeson, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. He was born Nov. 27, 1956, in Wilmington, son of the late Evan and Evalyn (Myers) Gebhart.

Mr. Gebhart was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, Class of 1975. He attended Delaware Technical and Community College in Georgetown, where he met his wife, Kerrie. From there, he went on to earn a degree in criminal justice from Widener University in North Wilmington. Mr. Gebhart was a real estate agent, selling homes from Wilmington to the Delaware beaches. He was passionate, in particular, about selling new-construction homes and was a member of the Sussex County Association of Realtors. Mr. Gebhart also worked as a dispatcher, both for the State Police and for New Castle County. Myers met wonderful people through the years and loved seeing people getting their new homes. He grew up spending time at the family beach home at Prime Hook, where he enjoyed everything outdoors, especially boating. Mr. Gebhart loved to travel; Mexico was his favorite vacation spot. Above all, he cherished time spent with those he held most dear. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Gebhart is survived by his beloved wife, Kerrie (Walton) Gebhart of Harbeson; his cousin, Karen Gebhart (Lockwood) of Lewes; his mother-in-law, Charlotte Walton of Seaford; his sister-in-law, Kimberly Lambertson (Ronnie) of Pocomoke City, Md.; his nephew, Ethan Hitch of Pocomoke City; his best friend, Dennis Woods of Georgia; and his loyal canine companion Buddy, who brought such joy to his life.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 9, at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
