Nancy Fraser, religious lover of life

December 17, 2024

Nancy Fraser, 102, of Felton, passed away at home Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024. She was born Sept. 27, 1922, in Wilmington, daughter of the late Rowland and Adelia (Lank) Ingram.

Nancy graduated from Rehoboth High School in 1940. She worked at DuPont briefly but left to focus on raising her three children. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker.

A deeply religious lover of life, Nancy had a deep affection for reading, playing cards, and spending time at the beach. She enjoyed countless memories made with family and friends for over 50 years at their beach house on Indian River. She embraced the beach life, especially fishing and crabbing, lounging in and near the water, and getting her feet wet in the ocean. She enjoyed preparing feasts from what they caught; her favorite was soft-shell crabs.

She was an almost lifelong member of St. John's United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir in her later years. Her warm spirit, great sense of humor, and infectious laugh brought joy to all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Alexander Fraser, in 1999; her sister, Jane Ingram; and granddaughter, Billie-Sue. She is survived by her children, Rowland Fraser, Shirley Killen and her husband Harold, and Hugh Alexander Fraser Jr. and his wife Joy; 19 grandchildren, Bruce, Alex, Michael, Dion, Grayson, David, Donna, Beverly, Nancy, Glenn, Rebecca, Sarah, Philip, Bethany, Hugh III, Hannah, Steven, Crystal, and Jeremy; and 51 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 19, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 16961 Kings Hwy., Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes, where friends may call beginning at 5 p.m. Burial will be private at Bethel United Methodist Cemetery, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nancy's name to St. John’s United Methodist Church, 300 N. Pine St., Seaford, DE 19973.
