NASCAR’s Alex Bowman gives $10K to SPCA in Delaware

December 30, 2021

Over the course of this past NASCAR season, there were winners on and off the track.

Ally and NASCAR’s Alex Bowman, driver of the Ally-sponsored No. 48 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE of Hendrick Motorsports, teamed with Best Friends Animal Society to improve animal welfare across the United States. Ally and Bowman donated a total of $123,000 to 32 Best Friends network partners, one shelter in each city that hosted a NASCAR race.

For each race, Ally and Bowman each donated $1,000 to a local shelter, and Ally increased its donation to $10,000 in the four communities where Bowman won. Since Bowman won the May 2021 race in Dover, Brandywine Valley SPCA had the good fortune to receive a $10,000 donation.

The donated funds provided a boost to dozens of no-kill shelters, and will aid efforts such as spaying and neutering, educating the public about animal welfare, adoption events and more.

A leader in the no-kill movement, Best Friends works in collaboration with its nationwide network of members and partners to save them all. The nonprofit is actively working to ensure that every shelter in the country is no-kill by 2025, meaning all shelters receive the community support needed to save every dog and cat that can be saved.
