New bridge over Broadkill River

This photo from the Delaware Project shows the Route 14 (later Route 1) bridge over Broadkill River in March 1970. The alignment of the former crossing, which was a drawbridge, is also clearly visible. The drawbridge at this site gave its Drawbridge name to the store and small community which grew up around the river crossing.
