New Road closure extended to Dec. 1

The closure of New Road between Old Orchard Road and Canary Creek Lane in Lewes has been extended until 11:45 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 1, because of delays caused by adverse weather. The roadway is being connected to a roundabout, and new curbs, drainage improvements and sidewalks are being constructed for the Tower Hill subdivision.
At all times, residents and businesses will have access but may need to take the posted detour routes.
Eastbound New Road traffic: Turn right onto Old Orchard Road then left onto Savannah Road and make a left onto Pilottown Road and return to New Road. Westbound traffic: Turn right on Pilottown Road then right onto Savannah Road and another right on Old Orchard Road to get back to New Road.
