Oscar G. Pickenheim, avid bowler, golfer

Oscar G. Pickenheim, 79, of Georgetown, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. He was born July 25, 1943, in Hazleton, Pa.

Oscar resided in Landing, N.J. He retired after working 42 years as the manager of Circle Bowl & Entertainment in Ledgewood, N.J., and moved to Georgetown in 2010. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army from June 1961-June 1964. 

Oscar was an avid bowler and golfer. In his bowling career, he bowled 42-300 games. He was inducted into the Morris County, N.J., Hall of Fame for Bowling in 1984, and in 1989 was inducted into New Jersey State Bowling Hall of Fame. He loved golfing with his many friends and especially, Indian River Seniors and his friends at Mulligan’s Pointe. He eventually achieved a hole-in-one at Maple Dale Golf Club in May 2021.  

Oscar will be greatly missed by his love and fiancée, Kathleen Hudak.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 25, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery chapel, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.
