Parsell Funeral Homes family contributes to Harry K Foundation

To combat childhood hunger in Delaware, the Parsell Funeral Homes family raised money at its annual employee party to support the Harry K Foundation. 

Team members gave donations and the Parsells matched the amount to present a $3,700 donation to charity.

Today in Delaware, 1 out of 5 children will go to sleep at night without food and feel hungry. The Harry K Foundation backpack program partners with the Food Bank of Delaware to provide nutritious meals for children in need.

The backpack program is designed to provide children in need with meals they can take home over the weekend, ensuring they have access to nutritious food even when they are not in school. Currently, the foundation funds backpacks for 701 schoolchildren to take home every weekend, over holidays and during the summer.
