Patricia Ann Bishop, retired teacher
Patricia (Pat) Ann Bishop, 73, of Lewes, passed away Thursday, Dec. 22, 2022, at home surrounded by her loved ones after a short battle with cancer. She was born April 16, 1949, in Detroit, Mich., daughter of the late Charles and Rita (Ferguson) Fronrath.
Pat grew up in Boynton Beach, Fla., and graduated from Seacrest High School. She continued her studies in California, obtaining an associate degree in business and accounting, and later went back to school, receiving an associate’s degree in education.
Pat worked for Markstein Beverage Co. of San Ramon, Calif., in the accounting department for 10 years. It was there she met the love of her life, James William Bishop. She and Bill moved to North Carolina, where they raised their two beautiful children. Pat worked at Pasquotank Public Schools in Elizabeth City, N.C., as a paraprofessional and teacher for many years. After moving to Delaware 15 years ago, she worked at H.O. Brittingham Elementary School in Milton, from which she retired in 2016.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking for her kids, relaxing on the beach in Dewey Beach, traveling the world with her best friends, playing with her grandchildren and her ladies’ luncheon Lunch with a Purpose. Time spent with her loved ones, especially holidays and vacations, was cherished above all. Pat was a loving, nurturing, and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her favorite title of all was when she became Gigi. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her brothers: Charles "Buddy" Fronrath Jr. and Robert "Bobby" Fronrath. Pat is survived by her husband of 38 years, James "Bill" Bishop; her children: James "Billy" Bishop Jr. (Rebecca) of Charleston, S.C., and Katharine “Kate” Nardo (Dino Jr.) of Millsboro; her grandchildren: Addison Marie Bishop and Grant William Bishop of Charleston; and her beloved granddog, Maverick.
