Paul J. Capitan, loved his family
Paul J. Capitan, 85, of Milton, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023, at The Moorings at Lewes in Lewes. He was born July 11, 1937, in Larksville, Pa., son of the late Joseph and Clara Capitan.
Paul had a rough start in life with his father dying when he was an infant, but his mother and two older brothers, Jack and Joe, raised him well. They all worked hard to keep the family together. Paul never complained about how tough things were, but would always say how grateful he was for what he had and what others did for him.
While living in Virginia, Paul worked for many years in the linen and uniform rental business as a route driver and eventually a route supervisor. He finished his working years as a sales and service agent for Valley Proteins, a rendering company. In his early years, Paul loved fishing, horseback riding, and spending time at the farm, where he boarded horses that he owned. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and playing bingo. After retirement, Paul made the move to Delaware, where he and his family vacationed over the years. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he will be genuinely missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Eileen Capitan; his brothers, Jack Capitan and Joe Capitan; and his second wife, Janet Greenawalt Capitan, whom he met at grief support and was blessed to have three and a half wonderful years with. He is survived by his children, Paul J. Capitan Jr. (Debbie) of Milton, and Cheryl Capitan of Brunswick, Md.; and his grandchildren, Cara Capitan, Brian Capitan and Amy Capitan.
All services will be private.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
