Paul K. Ewell, talented musician
Our beloved Paul K. Ewell, 91, departed this life Monday, May 8, 2023, after bravely battling Parkinson's disease for many years. He was born Feb. 17, 1932, in Philadelphia, Pa., son of the late Paul and Celia Ewell.
A longtime resident of Baltimore, Md., Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean conflict. He had a lifelong career as a drywall contractor, took much pride in his profession, and was known for his incredible work ethic. In 1973, Paul married Ellen Roberts and enjoyed 50 years of marriage. They moved to Rehoboth Beach in 1977.
Paul had many interests and hobbies. He attended Maryland Art Institute and studied under Frank Redelius. In addition, Paul enjoyed country music, guitar playing and golf. He wrote a song that was professionally recorded and released as a 45 called “Show Me Love.” Playing music during the holidays was a family tradition that everyone enjoyed. Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be dearly missed and forever loved by all those whose lives he touched.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brothers: Harry and Arthur Ewell. He is survived by his wife, Ellen; his children: Paul Ewell (Beth), Perry Ewell, Pam Brockelman (Steve), Paige Ewell Stewart, Catherine Adams Miller (Richard), and Aaron Michael Adams (Jenifer); seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his sisters: Charlotte Joan Thurman and Carol Katrinic; and his brother, Malcolm Ewell.
Services will be private.
