Paul Kares announces September lineup for The Room at Cedar Grove

August 30, 2023

The newly expanded Room at Cedar Grove has a September lineup that includes international recording artists, local favorites and even a magic show.

The events benefit Paul Kares, the charity that musician-chef Paul Cullen founded with Jim Rivette to help young musicians and aspiring culinary professionals.

The nonprofit has provided grants to young musicians heading to educational and enriching music events, such as Roots Rock Revival in the Catskills, and to an aspiring chef on a culinary school trip to Italy.

Dates and performers are:

Thursday, Sept. 7: Pressing Strings, a Maryland trio that plays Americana, blues, soul, reggae and rock ‘n’ roll. Tickets are $85 and include a wine dinner.

Thursday, Sept. 14: Claude Bourbon, an acoustic guitarist who fuses blues, jazz, folk, classical and Spanish styles. Tickets are $65 and include a wine dinner.

Friday, Sept. 15: Mama’s Black Sheep, featuring singer-songwriters Ashland Miller on guitar and vocals, and Laura Cerulli on drums and vocals. They also perform covers. Tickets are $65 and include a wine dinner.

Sunday, Sept. 17: Magician Chris Michael isn’t about pulling rabbits from a hat. He’s leveraged his magic and comedy to help the FBI work as a team and energize salespeople. Tickets are $75 and include a wine dinner.

Thursday, Sept. 21: Illiterate Light from Virginia is a duo that plays guitar-driven indie rock. Tickets are $75 and include a wine dinner.

Saturday, Sept. 23: Singer-songwriter Jeffrey Gaines returns to Lewes after selling out shows in The Room last year. Tickets are $85 and include a wine dinner.

Thursday, Sept. 28: Hot Sauce, perhaps the area’s hottest band, brings its spicy music to The Room. They’re a little bit Herb Alpert, a little Gipsy Kings and a lot of fun. Tickets are $85 and include a wine dinner.

In October, The Room at Cedar Grove will showcase jazz artists to salute the Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival.

The Room at Cedar Grove is at 32882 Cedar Grove Road near Lewes.
