Paul Kares donates $1,000 to Music School of Delaware
Paul Kares, a Lewes-based nonprofit organization, recently donated $1,000 to the Music School of Delaware.
“We met with Stephen Beaudoin, the new president and CEO, and were so impressed with the school’s mission and accomplishments,” said Jim Rivette, president of Paul Kares. “Supporting their endeavors fits in nicely with our goals.”
Rivette and Chana Fitzkee, a Paul Kares board member, presented the check to Beaudoin and Jeana Beno, the school’s development officer.
Fitzkee’s sons, the Fitzkee Brothers, are well-known local musicians.
“I know firsthand how important quality instruction and mentoring is to young performers,” she said. “I appreciate that they have a financial assistance program to make music education available to everyone.”
Rivette and musician-chef Paul Cullen founded the charity to help young performing and culinary artists. Paul Kares recently donated to the Cape Henlopen High School Jazz Band and Delaware Technical Community College’s hospitality program.
The nonprofit offers funds for financial assistance, instruments, culinary kitchen tools, and scholarships for specialty camps, schools and programs.
Qualified individuals are Delmarva-area students interested in music, the culinary arts and related fields. Students, parents and grandparents, public and private school programs and learning camps can apply.
