P.E.O. Chapter L, Lewes recently awarded a a merit scholarship of $2,500 to Marissa Pommerenk-Malone, a student at the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing, to assist with completion of her RN degree.
Scholarship Chair Joan LaRusso joined other PEO members in congratulating Pommerenk-Malone on her dedication to her studies and career plans.
“Marissa is an exemplary student who works tirelessly to complete her nursing program while balancing a very full life,” said LaRusso.
The P.E.O. Sisterhood, founded Jan. 21, 1869, at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, is a philanthropic and educational organization focused on bringing women increased opportunities for higher education. There are approximately 6,000 local PEO chapters in the United States and Canada with nearly 240,000 active members. Chapter L, Lewes, was organized in May 1999.
