P.E.O. STAR scholarship goes to Cape grad Montana Jones

P.E.O. Chapter L, Lewes, recently awarded a $2,500 STAR scholarship from the P.E.O. Sisterhood to Montana Jones, a 2024 graduate of Cape Henlopen High School.

Jones was selected to receive the competitive merit scholarship based on her academic achievements, leadership, and service to her school and community. Jones will be attending West Chester University in the fall. 

The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship was established in 2009 to provide scholarships for exceptional women in their final year of high school to attend an accredited postsecondary educational institution in the U.S. or Canada in the next academic year.

The P.E.O. Sisterhood, founded Jan. 21, 1869, at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, is a philanthropic and educational organization focused on bringing women increased opportunities for higher education. Chapter L, Lewes was organized in May 1999.
