Phyllis J. Green, avid sportswoman
Phyllis J. Green, a Millsboro resident, passed away peacefully at her home Monday, Aug. 26, 2024. She was born Oct. 31, 1947, to Chester and Reata (Lowe) Baker. Mrs. Green was predeceased by her beloved husband, John P. Green Jr., as well as two brothers, Vernon and Donald Baker.
Mrs. Green’s professional journey began at National Cash Register, where she worked on the front line. Her career then took her to M&T Bank, and later to J&C Law Firm. In her personal life, she was an avid tennis player, golfer and bowler, finding joy in each of these pursuits.
Mrs. Green is survived by her daughter Terry L. Mooney (Kenny); her stepdaughter Karen Reed; two brothers: Merrill and Russell Baker; and three sisters: Linda Clive, Sandy Baker and Ethel Mae Layton. She is also cherished by her five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
