Pinky Returns golf tournament a huge success

August 6, 2024

More than 150 people enjoyed a gorgeous day and a full field of lady golfers for the 16th annual Pinky Returns golf tournament in support of the Julie Dickson Foundation to empower women. The tournament was held July 22 at Kings Creek Country Club.

The Julie Dickson Foundation was founded to empower women in the spirit of Julie Dickson’s lifelong advocacy for women, young athletes and small business owners. Julie was an athlete, an educator, a school social worker, a coach and a small business owner. Some of her more notable achievements included coaching field hockey, basketball, track, tennis and lacrosse, including coaching for Brown University. She helped form the U.S. Field Hockey Federation. She later built a State Farm Agency from the ground up and was a city councilwoman in Lancaster, Pa.

Her foundation has provided $27,000 in scholarships to talented young women at Delaware Technical Community College and monies to the Strive Foundation.
