February 3, 2022

The Peninsula Gallery is spotlighting renowned plein air painter Jacalyn Beam as its featured artist for February.

Beam is a nationally known plein air oil painter. In 2021, she was juried into the prestigious Plein Air Texas, one of the top plein air events in the nation. Her work is included in various books and publications, including 100 Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters, Art Collector Magazine, Brandywine Valley Reflections, Hunt Magazine and more. She has won numerous awards for her work and was invited to represent Delaware in the National Invitational America the Beautiful exhibit.

A member of the American Impressionist Society and Oil Painters of America, Beam served on the board of directors for the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Society and the Chadds Ford Historical Society.

The works featured in this month’s collection include Beam’s iconic landscapes including farmhouses, water scenes and local hotspots. She  also pays homage to Delaware with works like “Meet at Dolle’s” and “Winter on Pyles Ford Road,” in addition to other bay and dock images.

Beam has 10 new oil and pastel paintings on display during February. Works can be previewed at peninsula-gallery.com.

Featured Artist of the Month is a recurring event produced by Peninsula Gallery to highlight works created by different artists. The lineup of participants includes some of the gallery’s resident artists, repeat exhibitors and artists entirely new to the space.
