Poke Bros., a chain restaurant specializing in Hawaiian-style poke (pronounced pokay) bowls, is opening a location on Route 1 north of Rehoboth Beach.

The new restaurant will be located off Miller Road in the Rehoboth Marketplace shopping center, between Pete’s Steak Shop and Weis Markets.

Originating in Hawaii, poke bowls are a rice-based food dish that features raw fish with vegetable options. The Poke Bros. website describes its menu offerings as “Sushi in a bowl.”

Founded in 2016, the Ohio-based company has nearly 60 locations across 11 states. The Rehoboth location will be the company’s sixth in Delaware – there are two in Wilmington, and one each in Dover, Middletown and Newark.

According to the website, Poke Bros. at 19287 Miller Road, Suite 1B, Rehoboth, is expecting a March opening. For more information, go to eatpokebros.com.
